Dr. Shushanik Asmaryan is a leading expert in GIS, remote sensing, and Earth observation, holding a PhD in Geography from Yerevan State University. As Head of the Department of GIS and Remote Sensing Technologies at CENS, she leads research on environmental monitoring, land-use and land-cover assessment, biomass estimation, and land degradation. Her current interests focus on applying Earth observation and geospatial technologies to precision agriculture, enabling data-driven crop monitoring, resource management, and sustainable farming. She has led major international research projects and currently leads state-funded initiatives, while also coordinating CENS activities in the PANGEOS COST Action.
